Safeguarding is protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults’ health, wellbeing and human rights whilst carrying out work in occupied premises. It is something that Care projects place huge emphasis on throughout the entire operation of our business.
Due to the nature of our work, we frequently encounter children, young people and vulnerable adults. We have robust safeguarding policies and procedures in place, which detail the practical measures we take to protect vulnerable groups with whom we work. We also have a code of conduct which outlines the behaviours that we expect from our staff and operatives.
There is legislation and government guidance in place, such as the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), to prevent unsuitable people from working with children, young people and vulnerable adults. We obtain DBS checks annually on our staff and they may also be obtained on request from our clients. We provide regular toolbox talks and training with safeguarding as the primary focus. This ensures our workforce have a deep understanding of safeguarding and how to identify potential safeguarding issues enabling them to make informed decisions and temper their working practices accordingly whilst reporting any concerns and seeking advice when the need may arise.
